Why did you start One Eleven?
The vision for One Eleven came through to me during a week of deep silence and meditation. It was a creative burst of inspiration, a channelled download that was very very clear. I was to join the ranks of people all across the world who are tapping into ancient wisdom and bringing it to a mass audience in an accessible and fresh context.
My path in life has been one of deep exploration of Veda (ancient wisdom cognised into texts thousands of years ago in India), after learning Vedic meditation all those years ago and witnessing the profound change it has had on every area of my life. A sister philosophy to Vedic meditation from these same ancient texts is Ayurveda, a broad and holistic science of life and of holistic health. Learning about Ayurveda and starting to adopt its principles and simple practices felt like coming home to me.
Ayurveda is about aligning with nature and its infinite wisdom, and coming back to basics, returning to the self. For so long, in the west we have divorced ourselves from what we innately know health to be, and have forgotten that our bodies are governed by an innate intelligence, giving away our power to someone wearing a white coat. And the stories I could share about this that I’ve come across personally would astonish you, so that’s why I’m here to be a vehicle of change. Luckily, our cells hold the memory of perfect health and all we have to do is enliven it.
One Eleven is a vehicle to bring back the memory of this ancient wisdom, through a series of multi-purpose, multi-benefit, beautiful and luxurious health products that are easy to integrate into our daily lives through ritual. Our message is that health can be enjoyable, beautiful, simple, and that our natural state is one of perfect health, luxury and affluence.
We’re here to be a part of the worldwide movement of self-health, where we shift back into intuition and empowerment about our health on all levels, and stop outsourcing our health (and our power). I came together with Dylan, and a likeminded group of partners who share the vision to bring more consciousness, happiness and health into the world, and BOOM – One Eleven Health was born.
What did you have for breakfast?
I typically have a hot drink with One Eleven Bliss in it, sometimes I fast, and other times I have a nutrient dense smoothie consisting of plant-based protein, probiotics, leafy greens, kefir yoghurt, almonds, collagen and medicinal mushrooms. If it’s the weekend, I treat my husband and I to protein pancakes or an egg and sweet potato dish.
What is your biggest health non-negotiable?
Meditation twice per day.
What is your favourite daily ritual?
I am a sort of ritual/self-care queen and have many – my morning routine consists of rising with the sun, tongue scraping, meditation, movement, abhyanga self-massage (an Ayurvedic ritual), bathing, and my beauty routine. In the evenings, I love to have a sauna, cold shower, and settle down to a long and luscious meditation with incense and One Eleven bliss in some hot water or milk.
What is your biggest indulgence?
My biggest indulgence is my spa days/facial treatments. I could easily spend the whole day at my favourite bath house in LA, or if I could I would get a weekly facial with my all-time favourite facialist and holistic health practitioner Fumi Yamamato in Bronte, Sydney.
What does sustainability mean to you?
Sustainability to me means using maximum consciousness, efficiency and respect when using resources. For One Eleven, it means not taking the sloppy, lazy route – it means pushing ourselves to the limits of what’s possible and practical to create what nature wants us to create, even if that means taking a hit on our bottom line. It’s not the what, it’s the how. If we’re going to create something, how can we do it without damaging the earth, and how can we create a reciprocal flow between us and mother nature where we can give back more than we take? That’s why for each of our orders we donate to planting trees with our fulfilment partners, that’s why we donate a % profits back to India, that’s why our packaging is consciously crafted and the refills are recyclable. No one will know the effort we went to to find someone that could make gold foil print recyclable for our boxes and pouches! But it was totally worth it.
What does luxury mean to you?
Luxury to me is our natural state. Luxury is an affluent consciousness. Luxury is a state of being, and a way of experiencing life. Luxury is affluence, abundance and mother divine. Luxury is perfect health, and the ability to see life through the eyes of the divine, to see beauty everywhere and in all things. You could be sitting in a palace dripping in gold, and yet still not be in luxury, because your mind is in a state of poverty, and your state of consciousness is in lack. At the same time, you could be sitting in an empty room, and feel the luxury and beauty of being alive, breathing in fresh air, feeling the magic all around you. For me, luxury is enjoying life through all of our senses.
